The Cottage is in Wells, on the main road as you come in from Glastonbury side. It's a semi-detached place, and it's on the outskirts, so it's about a mile or so to walk into the centre. There's on-site parking, which is handy.
It sleeps four people with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. One thing to know is the entrance is wheelchair accessible, but inside it's a standard cottage layout, so there are steps and changes in level.
You have a garden that's enclosed, which is good if you're bringing a dog. We allow one well-behaved pet.
Inside, it's spacious. There's a washing machine, a TV, and WiFi. All the bedding and towels are included. The heating and electricity are all part of the price.
For shops, there's a supermarket about ten minutes' walk away. The local pub is about half a mile. In Wells itself, you've got the high street, cafes, and other pubs. The market is on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Wells Cathedral and the Bishop's Palace are the main things to see there. The Cathedral is worth a look. There's also a leisure centre with an indoor pool.
From here, Glastonbury is really close. You can see the Tor from miles around. The walk up it is steep, but the view from the top is something else. The National Trust looks after the Tor. The ruins of the Abbey are in the town centre.
Other places nearby include Wookey Hole Caves and Cheddar Gorge, which are both good for a day out. Clarks Village in Street is there if you want to go shopping.
If you don't mind a drive, you can get to Bath, Bristol, or the coast at Weston-super-Mare in under an hour. For planning, the National Trust Somerset page lists a lot of the bigger properties and walks.
