Marigold

Marigold is a barn conversion on our farm in Thrupe, Somerset. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. You get a double with an ensuite shower room, and a twin room with a family bathroom next door. Both bathrooms are downstairs, which is useful.

The living space is all open plan. It's modern, with exposed beams. Big glass doors open out onto a little decked garden, which gets the sun in the evening. There's a wall mounted electric fire for colder nights.

It's a 4 Star place, so it's well-equipped. You've got a dishwasher, washing machine, Wi-Fi, and parking right outside. The whole barn is on one level, so it's suitable for wheelchairs. We can provide a highchair.

You're on a private drive, so it's quiet. The barn is set back in its own bit of garden. We've got a few alpacas in the field next door. They are nosey. If you're bringing horses, we can sometimes arrange stabling, but you'd need to ask us about that first.

Shepton Mallet is about two miles away for supermarkets. Wells is ten minutes by car. It's a beautiful city, the cathedral is worth a visit. You can get to the Bath park and ride in about fifteen minutes, which is the easiest way to see Bath.

You're on the edge of the Mendip Hills, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Good walking from the door. The Royal Bath and West Showground is nearby for events. Glastonbury town is about six miles away, and the festival site is a bit further.

No pets, sorry. The place is non-smoking. Bedding and towels are included.

If you're looking for things to do, the National Trust and English Heritage have lots of properties within half an hour, like Stourhead or the Roman Baths.
