Braeburn

Braeburn is our cottage in East Compton, Somerset. It's a Grade II listed old coach house we've done up.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom downstairs. It has a 5 Star rating. It's old, so the ceilings are low in the bedrooms upstairs, and the stairs up to the gallery landing are fairly steep. The two bedrooms are separated by curtains, not doors. We thought it was a nice, quirky feature.

Downstairs is all one open space: living area, kitchen, and a dining table. There's a wood burner. The kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine, and one of those pod coffee makers. The bathroom is a wet room with a big shower head.

Outside, you have your own garden with a patio and a hot tub. The property shares wider grounds with a couple of other cottages. There's a lake you can walk down to, and a shared tennis court.

Shepton Mallet is the nearest town for shops. Glastonbury is about ten minutes by car. The Tor is there, and the town has its own character. The festival site at Worthy Farm is about a mile away. Clarks Village in Street is about twenty minutes for outlet shopping. The Bath and West Showground is only five minutes down the road.

For a day out, Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole are both within half an hour's drive. Wells Cathedral is about the same. Further afield, you can get to the coast or into Bath within an hour.

Facilities we include: all bedding and towels, WiFi, parking right outside. There's no cot or high chair. We don't accept pets.
