Russet Lodge

Russet Lodge is one of four huts here in Coxbridge. It's on the Somerset Levels, near Glastonbury. You're about ten minutes from the town by car.

The lodge sleeps six across three bedrooms. There's one proper bathroom with a shower. It has a four star rating, so it's well equipped. It's designed like a safari tent but built as a solid hut, so it's warm and dry. Everything's on one level, which is good if stairs are a problem. There's a wood burner for heat and atmosphere, and the bedding is provided. You get your own veranda with a barbecue.

The site is a converted fruit farm. There's an old orchard with apple and pear trees, and the huts are in a wildflower meadow. It's quiet. There are shared areas too: a games room with a pool table, and an outdoor space with a pizza oven and a firepit.

You can borrow bicycles to go along the levels. It’s very flat. Glastonbury Tor is the obvious thing to see. The town is interesting if you like that sort of thing. The Mendip Hills and Cheddar Gorge are within half an hour for walks or caving. Wells Cathedral is about twenty minutes away.

You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right by your lodge. The kitchen has what you need for a week’s stay.
