Bluebell House is in Compton Dundon, which is a small village between Somerton and Street. It's a detached house, so no neighbours through the walls. The garden is all yours and it's fully enclosed.
It sleeps eight people. There are four bedrooms. Two are downstairs, one is a king size and it has a door through to another room with a double bed. Upstairs there's a big double with an en-suite bathroom that has a roll-top bath, and a twin room. There's also a shower room on the ground floor.
The living space is all open plan. Kitchen, dining table, sofas. It's a normal kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine. The sofas face a smart TV. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's been checked for quality and is well equipped.
The garden has a proper patio area with a table and a charcoal BBQ. There's lighting out there. There's also a lawn with games like badminton and bowls. In the summer we put up a splash pool for kids. There are a couple of hammocks and sun loungers too.
There's a pub a few minutes walk down the road. They do food. You don't need to drive.
Street is about three miles away. That's where the Clarks Village outlet shopping is. Somerton is about the same distance the other way. It's an old Saxon town, nice for a wander. Glastonbury is about a 20 minute drive. The Tor is there to climb if you want the view, and the town has its own character with interesting shops. The festival is in June but the town is there all year.
For a day out, the coast at Burnham-on-Sea or Weston-super-Mare is roughly half an hour. The National Trust has several properties nearby like Montacute House. The Somerset Country Parks are good if you want a walk.
Practical stuff: we include bedding and towels. There's on-site parking for a couple of cars. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. We've got a cot and a stairgate if you need them. The house is decorated for Christmas if you book over that period.
