Alpine

Alpine is one of the lodges at Viaduct Fisheries in Somerton. It's a detached lodge, so no shared walls. It's right by the lakes.

It's a 4 Star place, which means it's well kept and comfortable. It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with twin beds, and one shower room. It's all on one level, so no stairs to worry about.

The main room is open plan. Kitchen at one end, living area at the other. There's a dishwasher and a big fridge freezer. The patio doors open out onto your own bit of garden, looking straight over the water. The view is different every day depending on the weather and the light.

If you're into fishing, your stay includes free fishing on the lakes. If you're not, it's just a nice place to sit and watch.

Somerton is a small town. There's a shop and a couple of pubs about a 15 minute walk away. Street, which has the Clarks Village outlet shopping, is about a 10 minute drive. Glastonbury is 20 minutes away. The walk up the Tor is good, if steep. The views from the top are the whole point.

You're on the edge of the Somerset Levels. It's very flat, good for cycling or easy walks. The River Parrett at Langport is close by for that. The coast, like Burnham-on-Sea, is about 40 minutes in the car.

It has parking right outside. There's a TV and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. No pets allowed.
