Paddock View
Paddock View is in Knole, Somerset. It's a converted barn, detached from the main house. The main house is a thatched cottage from the 1400s, ours is the barn at the far end.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's been done to a high standard. Everything's new but it keeps a lot of the old features, like the brickwork.
You come in through patio doors into the main living space. It's all open plan: sitting area with a wood burner, a dining table, and the kitchen. The bedroom is at the back with a super king bed. The bathroom has a roll-top bath and stable doors you can open.
Outside, there's a private patio. You can also use parts of the grounds from the main house. The view is over a paddock where horses are kept. There are sometimes hens around.
The village is quiet. Good for walks. Lytes Cary Manor, which is National Trust, is about ten minutes away by car. The Haynes Motor Museum is under twenty minutes. Somerton village is a short drive for pubs and shops.
Facilities wise: there's parking, WiFi, a wood burner, a dishwasher, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
