If you like history, there are some good National Trust houses nearby. Montacute House is impressive, and Barrington Court and Lytes Cary Manor are also within easy reach.
In terms of facilities, the kitchen has what you need. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. You can bring one dog.
