The Milking Shed is in Thorney, near Langport. It's part of a small farm, but it's separate now. It's really quiet here.
It used to be where the dairy cows were milked. They've done it up into a holiday place. It's on one level, which is useful. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. It says it sleeps four, but that's with one double and two singles in the other room. So it's good for a couple, a small family, or maybe two friends.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well kitted out. There's a dishwasher, wifi, and a TV. The garden is enclosed, so it's safe for dogs or kids. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right outside.
Being rural is the main point. You can see Glastonbury Tor from the fields behind. The views are good. There's local fishing on the River Parrett if that's your thing.
Glastonbury is about a 20 minute drive. The town is there, and the Tor to walk up. Wells with the cathedral is maybe 25 minutes. For a bigger day out, the coast at Weston-super-Mare or Burnham-on-Sea is about 40 minutes. The Somerset Levels are all around here for walking or cycling. The National Trust page for Glastonbury Tor has walking information.
In terms of facilities, it's all there. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair. The garden has furniture. It's got heating and the electricity is included. You can use the bicycle storage if you bring bikes.
That's about it. It's a peaceful spot.
