Hollies Cottage 9 is one of a group of modern holiday cottages just outside Martock. They're clean and well-finished.
It sleeps seven across four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's modern and comfortable, rated 5 Star, so everything works and feels quite solid.
You're a short walk from the Hollies Hotel. You can use their gym and bikes, and you can pop over for a meal or a drink. The path down to it has lights for coming back in the dark.
Martock village is about a mile away. It's a nice walk down the lane. The buildings are made from Ham stone. There's a small supermarket, a few shops and some cafes.
If you want a big National Trust day out, Montacute House is about fifteen minutes by car. Barrington Court and Lytes Cary Manor are also close. Yeovil and Crewkerne are each a short drive away for bigger supermarkets or a cinema.
The cottage has a decent garden, completely enclosed. It's private. Parking is right there. Wifi, TV, all bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
If you're looking for things to do, the National Trust South West site is good for planning. Visit Somerset covers the wider area.
