For days out, there are a few National Trust places close by. Montacute House is about ten minutes drive. So is Barrington Court. Lytes Cary Manor is a bit further, maybe twenty minutes.
Yeovil and Crewkerne are within fifteen minutes if you need bigger supermarkets or a cinema.
