Stags Cottage
Stags Cottage is in Babcary. It's a barn conversion on a country estate. You're down the owner's long driveway so it's quiet, but you'll hear the occasional farm vehicle.
It's a two bedroom place, sleeps four. Both bedrooms are upstairs. They're big rooms with high ceilings and each has its own bathroom. Both beds are large, one's a super king. There's underfloor heating throughout, which is very effective.
The downstairs is open plan. Kitchen, dining table, and sitting area. It's well equipped. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, and a tumble dryer in a separate utility room with a toilet.
Outside, there's a carport for parking and an enclosed garden. The garden has a lawn, seating, and a hot tub.
You have permission to walk on the owner's land. There's over a hundred acres of woodland with paths. For a pub or a meal, the village is about a mile's walk down the lane.
It's a good base for driving to places. Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum is close. Wells is about half an hour. Glastonbury Tor is roughly 25 minutes. Cheddar Gorge is maybe 40 minutes. Bath is further, about an hour's drive.
