The Barn South Barrow

The Barn is on the edge of South Barrow, between Castle Cary and Yeovil. It's a converted barn cottage, single-storey, so everything's on the ground floor. There's another cottage and a smaller one called The Snug nearby, so you might see other guests in the fields.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms, and has two bathrooms which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, not luxurious. The main thing is the private, enclosed garden and the hot tub. There's a wood burner too. You also have access to about ten acres of the owners' fields to walk in.

The kitchen has a dishwasher and there's a TV and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. It's wheelchair accessible at the entrance and has a walk-in shower. Parking is right outside.

You can bring up to two dogs. There's bike storage if you need it.

The local shop and pub is about a mile and three quarters away. You'll need a car.

For things to do, the Haynes Motor Museum is very close, full of old cars. The Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton is about a 15-minute drive. For a historic house, Montacute House is perhaps 20 minutes away. Stourhead Gardens are beautiful and about half an hour's drive. Glastonbury Tor and Wells Cathedral are within 30 minutes. The Jurassic Coast is a bit further, more like an hour.
