Bee Cottage
This is Bee Cottage in East Lydford. It's a ground floor place, all on one level. We did it up a couple of years ago.
It's for four people. Two bedrooms, one twin and one double. There's a shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well looked after.
You come in to the main room. The kitchen's at one end, with a breakfast bar. There's a table in the middle and sofas at the other end. We put a wood burner in. It heats the whole place nicely.
Outside, there's parking for one car. Across the lane there's a garden area you can use. It's lawned. The hamlet is quiet.
There's a pub and a shop you can walk to, it takes about fifteen minutes. The pub does food. You can walk from the door along the River Brue.
By car, you're about ten minutes from Castle Cary or Somerton. Glastonbury Tor is maybe twenty-five minutes. The National Trust has places nearby like Stourhead and Lytes Cary Manor, which are within half an hour. Clarks Village at Street is about the same for shopping.
Further out, you can get to the coast at Burnham-on-Sea or into Bath in under an hour.
For facilities: there's WiFi, a washing machine, all the bedding and towels are included, and the parking is on site. No pets, I'm afraid.
