Old Farm
Old Farm is a converted barn on the edge of Southwood, about fifteen minutes drive from Glastonbury. It's detached and set back from the lane. You drive in through your own gate onto a private driveway.
It sleeps six, but that's two in each of the double bedrooms and then two more on a sofa bed in the second sitting room. Both bedrooms have their own bathrooms. Everything was done in 2021, so it's all new and works properly. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well equipped and finished to a high standard.
The main room is open plan: kitchen, dining, and living area. Big doors open out to the garden. There's a wood burner. The second sitting room has big windows. The garden is enclosed and looks out over fields. There's outdoor furniture and a barbecue.
It's a good spot for walking straight from the door. Glastonbury and Street are both a short drive away. Street has Clarks Village for shopping. Glastonbury has the Tor and its usual interesting shops.
For days out, Wells Cathedral and the Bishop's Palace are about half an hour away. Cheddar Gorge is a similar drive. The coast at Burnham-on-Sea or Weston-super-Mare is within half an hour too. For National Trust places, National Trust Somerset has a full list. Montacute House and Stourhead are both within an hour.
Facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, bedding and towels included. There's parking and an electric vehicle charger. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
