The Old Post House
The Old Post House is in Walton, Somerset. It's a semi-detached cottage that used to be the village post office, hence the name. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms.
We renovated it in 2023, so everything inside is new. The ground floor is all one open space: kitchen, dining table, and living area with a sofa and TV. Upstairs, the two bedrooms share a bathroom between them. It's a 'Jack and Jill' style, so each bedroom has its own door into it.
The first bedroom has a super king bed that can be split into two singles if you prefer. The second has a king bed. Both overlook the back garden.
There's a pub about five minutes' walk away. They do food and are dog friendly. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing pets. You can take two dogs.
Location wise, you're about ten minutes from Street and the Clarks Village outlet. Glastonbury is about the same drive the other way. Wells is fifteen minutes. The Mendip Hills are right there for walks. Cheddar Gorge is about twenty minutes by car.
It's got a 4 Star rating. The facilities are what you'd expect: wifi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and all bedding and towels are included.
