Sea Holly Cottage is in Thornham, Norfolk. It's one of two old farm workers' cottages we renovated in 2022. They're semi-detached but you have your own place, and you can book them together if you have a bigger group. Ours sleeps six.
It's a five-star property, which means it's been done to a high standard. Three bedrooms upstairs and two bathrooms, one on each floor. There's underfloor heating and a wood burner. The garden is enclosed with a decked area and a barbecue.
You're right in the village. The local shop is a couple of minutes' walk. A good pub and a restaurant are even closer, about 50 yards away. The coast path and Thornham's harbour and marshes are about a 15 minute walk.
For a proper sandy beach, Holkham is a 15 minute drive. Wells-next-the-Sea is about the same. Hunstanton is west, about 20 minutes by car, if you want classic seaside things or to see the sunset over the water.
There's plenty to do locally. You've got the National Trust Holkham Estate and Sandringham nearby. Good walking and cycling, especially on the Peddars Way. Birdwatching on the marshes is easy from the door.
Inside, it's open plan downstairs. We've put in a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's parking for two cars on the drive and space to store bikes. You can bring two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
