The Mistress' House

The Mistress' House is in Hunstanton, on Boston Square. It's a terraced house from the 1880s. The story goes it was built for the mistress of one of the Le Strange family who developed the town. I can't vouch for that, but it's an interesting bit of history.

It sleeps seven. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's been renovated inside, so it's more open plan than you might expect. The main living room is big and has a wood burner in an old stone fireplace. The stairs are in a turret, which is unusual. They wind around, so you need to watch your step.

The house is quiet, right next to the Sensory Garden. The cliff top and the beach are a few minutes' walk. The town shops and places to eat are about half a mile away. You can arrange to hire a beach hut from us as well.

Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, TV, and bedding and towels are included. We can take one well-behaved dog.

For days out, the North Norfolk coast is good for walking and birdwatching. Sandringham Estate is about twenty minutes by car. Further along the coast, Holkham Hall and the beach there are worth a visit, that's about half an hour's drive.
