Lavender Cottage is in Docking, a village inland from the north Norfolk coast. It’s one of a pair of semi-detached brick and flint cottages. Sleeps four in two bedrooms, with one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating, so it’s well kept and comfortable.
The layout is open plan. There’s a washing machine, Wi-Fi, TV, and an enclosed garden. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a highchair. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
The village has a shop and a pub about three quarters of a mile away. The coast is four miles from your door. That’s where the sandy beaches start, like at Brancaster. Brancaster has a shop, a couple of pubs, and a golf course.
Wells-next-the-Sea and Burnham Market are both about a twenty minute drive. Wells has the harbour and the beach with the colourful beach huts. Burnham Market is good for shopping and cafes.
Further along the coast, Hunstanton is six miles away. That’s a traditional seaside town with a pier, a leisure centre, and the Sea Life Centre. For something different, Fakenham has a racing track and a cinema.
If you like walking or birdwatching, you’re in a good spot. You can head straight out from the cottage on the local lanes. The National Trust Norfolk Coast site has information on the area. For a wider view of the region, Visit Norfolk is useful.
