Marsh Barn

Marsh Barn is in Brancaster, right on the edge of the salt marshes. It's a detached brick and flint barn that's been done up.

It sleeps ten people. Five bedrooms, four bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. The layout works for a group because everyone has some space.

The main thing is the view. The back of the house faces west over the marshes towards the sea. The light in the evening is very good. You get the changing tides and all the birds. There's direct access from the garden straight out onto the marsh paths.

The garden is walled and private, with a lawn. It leads to a small orchard and a private hard tennis court if you fancy a game.

You can leave the car. Brancaster beach is a walk down the lane. The Ship pub is about half a mile. The Jolly Sailors at Brancaster Staithe is a bit further. Both do decent food. The local shop is in the village.

For birdwatching, the RSPB reserve at Titchwell is a short drive. Boat trips to see the seals run from Morston and Blakeney. National Trust Brancaster Estate covers a lot of the coast here.

Within half an hour you've got Burnham Market for shops, Holkham Hall and beach, and Wells-next-the-Sea. The beach at Wells is a mile from the harbour, but there's a small train that goes along the beach road in summer.

In terms of what's here: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for several cars. Bedding is included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
