Marsh Barn

This is Marsh Barn in Brancaster. It’s a detached house right on the edge of the salt marshes. You get the whole place to yourselves, with a big garden that leads onto an orchard and a private tennis court. The garden is walled so it’s sheltered, but it’s still sunny out there.

It sleeps ten people. Five bedrooms, four bathrooms. It’s a 5 Star place, so it’s been done to a high standard. Everything is new and well thought out. The kitchen has everything, including warming drawers. There’s a utility room with a drying area for wetsuits, which is useful.

The main thing is the view. The rooms are light and you look straight out over the marshes to the sea. The tide comes and goes, so it changes all the time. You can walk straight from the garden onto the marshes and the National Trust coastal path.

Brancaster beach is sandy and you can walk to it. The sailing club and the golf course are there too. The golf is supposed to be very good. The local pub, The Ship, is award winning and within walking distance.

If you drive for ten or fifteen minutes, you’ve got Burnham Market for shops, or Titchwell RSPB reserve for birdwatching. Holkham Beach and Wells-next-the-Sea are about ten minutes away by car. You can see the seals at Blakeney Point from a boat trip. The whole coast here is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

For facilities: there’s parking, WiFi, a washing machine, woodburner, and satellite TV. Bedding is included. We can take up to two dogs. There are cots and highchairs if you need them.
