Upper Double Lodge
Upper Double Lodge is a gatehouse for the old Cally Palace, just outside Gatehouse of Fleet. It's detached, so it's just you. We let it because it's a nice little place.
It sleeps two, one bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating so it's comfortable and well looked after. Downstairs there's a kitchen with a dining area, a separate living room with an open fire, and a loo. The patio doors from the kitchen open onto your own garden. Upstairs is the bedroom.
You're right on the edge of Cally Woods. You can step out the door and be on the paths straight away. The town's about a ten minute walk. There's a couple of pubs, a cafe or two, and a small co-op for basics. The Mill on the Fleet is worth a look if you like local history.
The coast is close. Sandy beaches like Carrick and Mossyard are a short drive. It's a good area for cycling. There's a golf course nearby.
The Galloway Forest Park is about half an hour's drive. It's a Dark Sky Park, so if you're lucky with the weather the stars are amazing.
What's here: the garden, parking, wifi, a washing machine, bedding and towels are included. There's a barbecue. You can bring up to two dogs. Wood for the fire isn't included, but you can buy bags locally.
