Grouse Lodge
Grouse Lodge is near Benmore, in Argyll and Bute. It's a detached wooden lodge, so you're not sharing walls with anyone. It's set back off the road among trees, about a five minute walk down to Loch Eck.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms: one double and two twins. One bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after.
The living area is open plan with the kitchen. There's an electric stove that looks like a log burner for some heat and atmosphere. The covered veranda at the front is good for sitting out even if it's drizzling.
The location is the main thing. You're inside Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Puck's Glen is practically on the doorstep, it's a really good woodland walk with waterfalls. You can drive down to the shore of Loch Eck in minutes for kayaking or fishing.
Dunoon is about a 20 minute drive. That's where the main shops are, and a few places to eat. Benmore Botanic Garden is very close, you can see the giant redwoods from the road. Further afield, you can get the ferry from Colintraive to the Isle of Bute. Inveraray and Loch Fyne are about a 40 minute drive.
For facilities: it's got WiFi, a TV, dishwasher, washing machine, and parking for two cars on the gravel driveway. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. The garden isn't fully enclosed, so if your dog wanders off you'd need to keep an eye on them.
