The Penthouse
The Penthouse is in Strone, on the Holy Loch. It's an apartment at the top of a small building, so you get the views. It looks right out over the water to the hills. The garden gets the sun most of the day.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well kept. There's parking right outside.
You're in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. The front feels like you're on the loch shore. You'll see birds of prey about. Deer in the hills.
There's a pub and a restaurant about half a mile away. The proper shops are in Dunoon, a ten minute drive. They've got supermarkets, cafes, that sort of thing.
The area's good for walking. You can find old stones and carvings in the landscape if you look. For a structured day out, the Benmore Botanic Garden is impressive. It's about fifteen minutes by car.
If you want to be on the water, you can organise boat trips from Dunoon or go sailing. The scenery from the sea is different.
Inside, it's got what you'd expect: washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets.
