Larch

It's called Larch. It's one of four cottages up on the hillside above Loch Long. You can see the loch and the Argyll hills from the front. It's detached, so you've got your own space.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, but one of them is downstairs. There's one bathroom, also downstairs, with a walk-in shower. The stairs inside are fine.

The main living area is open plan with big patio doors that go out onto a deck. You can sit out there and look at the view. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings. We leave wood for you.

The place has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.

The location is the main thing. You're in the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. The Argyll Forest is right there, with paths for walking or cycling from the door. The coast is about 400 yards down the hill.

For a shop or a pub, you need to go about three miles to Blairmore. Dunoon is a bit further and has more options. The Benmore Botanic Gardens are close and worth a visit.

Within half an hour you can be in Dunoon proper, or taking the ferry from Portavadie over to Tarbert to explore Kintyre. If you're into sailing or walking, this is a good spot for it.

Here are some useful links: Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park for walking and permits, and Benmore Botanic Garden for visiting information.
