Pier Haven is in Blairmore, on the Cowal Peninsula. It's a first-floor apartment. The windows look out directly over the pier and Loch Long. You get a really good view of the comings and goings on the water.
It sleeps five. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and has everything you need. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you bring a dog.
There's a pub in the village, about a three-minute walk. It's fine for a pint. For a bigger shop, you'd drive to Dunoon, which is about twenty minutes away. They've got supermarkets, a leisure centre, and a small cinema.
The location is the main thing here. You're inside the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. There's a ruined old bakehouse right next to the garden. It attracts a lot of birds. In summer, swallows nest under the eaves and fly around the pier.
For walking, Puck's Glen is a standout. It's a ten-minute drive. It's a gorge walk with waterfalls and proper, dense woodland. It's quite steep and can be muddy. Further afield, the Cowal Way long-distance path goes through the area.
There are other good trips within half an hour. Benmore Botanic Garden has an avenue of giant redwoods. Ardentinny beach is a nice spot on Loch Long. The ferry from Colintraive to the Isle of Bute takes about five minutes. Inveraray, with its castle and old jail, is also within reach.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a woodburning stove, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one well-behaved dog. There's parking.
