Ivy Cottage is my place in Dunoon. It's a small, detached house on a quiet street. I had it completely done up a few years ago, so everything's new, warm, and works properly.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which I think is fair. It's comfortable, not huge. Everything's on one level, and the front door is step-free, which is handy for some.
The garden is fully enclosed, so it's secure for dogs. We allow two pets.
You're a few minutes' walk from a pebble beach at West Bay. Turn the other way and you're straight into Kilbride Forest for a walk. The town centre is about a fifteen-minute stroll if you fancy it. There's a pub and a restaurant about three-quarters of a mile away.
If you drive, Benmore Botanic Garden is about twenty minutes north. It's spectacular. The walking in Puck's Glen, just past that, is really good too, like something from a storybook. For a bigger trip, you can get the ferry from Dunoon pier across to Gourock, which takes about twenty-five minutes, and then you're on the main road to Glasgow.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking right outside. All the bedding and towels are included.
