Strone House is in Strone, on the Cowal peninsula. It's a detached house that looks over Loch Long and the Holy Loch. The Argyll Forest is right behind it. It's in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.
It sleeps ten people. Five bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's been done to a high standard. It was fully restored a few years ago, so everything works well but it still feels like an old house.
The garden is enclosed and there's on-site parking. Inside, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
There's a shop, a pub, and a restaurant about half a mile away. Dunoon is the nearest town for more shops and places to eat. The house is right by the water, so you can get down to the coast easily.
It's a good spot for getting out. You can walk or cycle on the forest trails. The Benmore Botanic Gardens are lovely. In summer, you can get the Waverley paddle steamer from nearby piers. For history, there are castles and monuments around. You might see deer, red squirrels, or even dolphins.
If you're planning days out, Loch Lomond, Inveraray, and Oban are all within an hour's drive.
