Raglan Cottage

Raglan Cottage is in Ardentinny, on Loch Long. It's a terraced cottage, one of a few together. It's a Category B listed building, which just means it's old and characterful. It's a 4 Star place. That means it's comfortable and well-equipped.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. You can bring one dog. That's a hard limit, sorry.

The main thing is the location. You walk out the back, cross the garden, and the Loch is right there. There's a deck out the front to sit and look at the water. It's maybe ten feet from the end of the garden down to the shore. You'll see seals out there sometimes.

Ardentinny has a little sandy beach you can walk to. There's also a pub and bistro a short walk along the lochside. If you want to eat there, it's best to book a table.

The cottage is inside the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. The Argyll Forest is right there. Lots of forest tracks and marked walks start practically from the door, good for walking or cycling.

Dunoon is about a twenty minute drive. It's got the usual shops, pubs, and restaurants. Benmore Botanic Gardens are worth a visit, and Pucks Glen is a really interesting walk through a gorge. Both are within half an hour.

For a day out, you can drive to Portavadie and get the ferry over to Tarbert on the Kintyre peninsula. There are also sometimes boat trips on the loch from Dunoon.

Inside, there's a woodburning stove for cooler days. Facilities are what you'd expect: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
