Raglan Cottage

Raglan Cottage is in Ardentinny, right on the shore of Loch Long. You're basically on top of the water. The view from the front is straight across the open loch.

It's a terraced cottage, sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a solid, comfortable place. The stairs inside are steep and a bit tight, as you'd expect in an old cottage.

You can see the loch from most of the front rooms, and there's a deck out the front. The garden goes down to a pebble beach about three metres from the deck. You can sit out there, or launch a kayak if you've brought one. Sometimes you see seals or porpoises out on the water.

There's a local pub and bistro a short walk along the shore. They do food and have a deck outside. It's wise to book for a table. The sandy beach at Ardentinny is also just a few minutes' walk away.

The cottage is right in the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, next to the Argyll Forest. There are loads of forest tracks and waymarked walks straight from the door. Good for walking or cycling.

Dunoon is about a 20-minute drive. It's got the main shops, supermarkets, and a few more places to eat. They have a small cinema there too. From there you can get boat trips on the loch.

Two places nearby worth a visit are Benmore Botanic Gardens and Pucks Glen. The Glen is a sort of narrow, mossy gorge with waterfalls, it's quite dramatic. Both are within half an hour.

Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, dishwasher, and a woodburning stove. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, sorry.
