Lochside is in Kilmun, on the Cowal Peninsula. It’s an apartment, on the ground floor of a bigger block. You look out over the Holy Loch from the front.
It sleeps four, two double bedrooms and one bathroom. It’s recently been done up, so it’s clean and neat. It has a three star rating, which feels right: it’s comfortable and tidy, not luxurious.
The living area has a wood burning stove which is nice in the evening. There’s a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.
The kitchen is quite spacious for a place this size. There’s parking right outside, and they’ve put in a lockable bike store too.
You can bring one well-behaved dog. There’s a local pub about half a mile away, and a shop with a garage at the same spot.
Being here, you’re in the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Glenbranter Forest is right there with good walks. You might see red squirrels. The view from the Glen over Loch Eck is very good.
Puck’s Glen is a famous short walk, it’s dramatic and a bit magical. Benmore Botanic Gardens is beautiful, especially in spring. The Kilmun Mausoleum is a minute’s walk away, it’s an interesting old site.
Dunoon is about ten minutes’ drive if you need a bigger shop or a browse. For a big day out, you can drive round to Inveraray in under an hour proper.
