Rosmuire Shandon

Rosmuire is in Shandon, on the shore of the Gare Loch. It's a detached house, not a cottage really. It's on a quiet farm road so it's very private. The place looks out over the water towards the Argyll hills.

It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and more spacious than you'd think from the outside. The garden is big, over three acres. There's a proper enclosed bit by the house, then the rest is fields and woods with streams. It's all yours to use. The decking gets the sun in the afternoon.

There's a garage with table football in it. Outside, there's a badminton court. The driveway fits about six cars.

You're about a mile from the boundary of the Loch Lomond National Park. Helensburgh is ten minutes down the road. It's a Victorian seaside town with supermarkets, a few restaurants, and a swimming pool. The Waverley paddle steamer sometimes calls at the pier there.

You can walk straight from the door. The area is good for cycling, fishing, and that sort of thing. The West Highland Way is nearby if you want to do a section. For a day out, Glencoe is under an hour away for mountain walks. The Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park site has good information.

Loch Lomond Shores, with the aquarium and boat trips, is about fifteen minutes by car. Glasgow is 45 minutes on the train from Helensburgh, if you wanted a city day. Edinburgh and Stirling are both within an hour and a half's drive.

Facilities: there's a woodburning stove, a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair. You can bring two dogs. There's no extra charge for them.
