Glenfruin Lodge
This is Glenfruin Lodge. It's a cottage near Arden, on the west side of Loch Lomond. It's about two miles from the loch shore.
It's a four star place. It sleeps four, but honestly, it's one big bedroom. It can be set up as a twin or a super king bed. There's one bathroom, which has a whirlpool bath.
The main room has a high ceiling and a wood burning stove. The floor is wood all through, with underfloor heating. It keeps it warm. All the windows have proper wooden shutters. French doors from the bedroom lead out to the garden.
The garden is grassy with a patio and some furniture. There's a BBQ. You get the whole garden to yourself.
Inside, there's a washing machine, a TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot. All the utilities are covered.
It's really a place for a couple, or maybe a couple with two children. You can also rent it together with Crosskeys Cottage nearby if you need space for more people.
Location wise, you're right on the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Balloch is about a 20 minute drive. From there you can get cruises on the loch. Helensburgh, with its seafront and the Mackintosh Hill House, is about 25 minutes. The Rest and Be Thankful pass and Arrochar Alps are within half an hour for walking. Glasgow city centre is about 45 minutes by car if you need something from a bigger town.
