Springvale is a big Victorian house on the edge of Cardross village. You're about 200 yards from the water here. It's detached and the garden is yours.
It sleeps ten people. Six bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The place is Victorian, so expect high ceilings and big windows. There's a small studio attached to the main house, but that's for the owners only. They might be there sometimes, but they have their own entrance and garden.
Cardross is a quiet place. There's a village pub that does food, a post office, a newsagent. The train station is a five-minute walk away along the shore path. Trains go to Glasgow, Edinburgh, and up to the Highlands regularly.
For a walk, Ardmore Point is two miles away. It's good for rock formations and birdwatching. Dumbarton Castle is five miles away. They say it's got the longest recorded history of any castle in Britain.
You're close to a lot from here. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park is about six miles to Balloch. Geilston Garden, which is National Trust for Scotland, is nearby too. If you want a city day, Glasgow is 30 minutes by train, Edinburgh and Stirling are within an hour's drive.
The facilities are all there: washing machine, dishwasher, woodburning stove, WiFi, parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. The entrance is wheelchair accessible and there's a ground floor bedroom and bathroom.
