Ivy Cottage is one of several on the site here at Auchendennan Farm in Arden. It's right in the middle of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. The cottage itself is single-storey and semi-detached. It's pretty compact, just for two people.
You get one bedroom and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything's clean and it's been done up nicely, but it's not a luxury hotel. It's a comfortable base. The living area is open-plan with a wood-burning stove, which is good for cooler evenings.
There's a pub about a quarter of a mile down the road. The nearest shop for basics is about two miles away in Balmaha, so you'll likely want to bring a car. You can park right outside the cottage.
Being in the National Park, you're surrounded by walking routes straight from the door. For a bigger day out, Ben Lomond is the closest Munro. The West Highland Way long-distance path runs along the east side of the loch here. You can also get onto National Cycle Route 7.
On the loch itself, you can get boat trips from Balmaha or from the Lomond Shores centre near Balloch. If you fancy a treat, the Cameron House resort with its golf and spa is only a few minutes' drive away. Glasgow is about 40 minutes by car if you need a city day.
In terms of what's here, you've got the wood burner, a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and bedding and towels are included. There's a private patio area with garden furniture. We can provide a cot and highchair if needed. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. We've also put in an electric vehicle charger.
