Chestnut Cottage is in Arden. It’s on a farm, but you’re at the edge of the steading, so it’s quiet. It’s single-storey and semi-detached, so it’s joined to Willow Cottage. Your bit of the garden is separate though.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating, which means it’s comfortable and well-equipped. It’s open-plan, so the living space, kitchen and sitting area are all together. There’s a wood-burning stove. It gets warm quickly.
There’s a pub about a quarter of a mile up the road. It serves food. The nearest shop for basics is about two miles away in Balloch.
You’re in the Loch Lomond National Park. For a walk, you can just head out from the door. For something bigger, Ben Lomond is the obvious one, or parts of the West Highland Way are very close. The National Cycle Route 7 goes past if you bring bikes.
Loch Lomond itself is a few minutes’ drive. You can get boat trips from Balloch or Balmaha. If you want a spa day or golf, Cameron House is about ten minutes down the road. Glasgow is about 40 minutes by car if you fancy a city trip.
What’s here: parking right outside, an electric vehicle charger, a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
