Elfin Cottage Barnacabber

Elfin Cottage is in Barnacabber, just north of Dunoon. It's a ground floor cottage, so no stairs to worry about. You get a good view over Loch Eck from the decking area outside.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms. There's also a double sofa bed in the living room if you need it, but it's really meant for four people. The shower room is just a shower room, no bath. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-fitted, but it's not huge. It's a cottage.

The location is the main thing. You're right in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Pucks Glen is practically on the doorstep, which is a great walk with waterfalls. The area is quiet, what they call Argyll's Secret Coast. You can drive the coastal route past Tighnabruaich, the views over the Kyles of Bute are very good.

Dunoon is the nearest town for shops and things, about a fifteen minute drive. There's a leisure centre and a cinema there. For a day out, you can get the short ferry from Colintraive over to the Isle of Bute. Rothesay has that classic seaside resort feel. Mount Stuart House is there if you like grand houses and gardens.

In the other direction, you can drive up Loch Fyne. The Loch Fyne Oyster Bar is there, and Inveraray isn't far. If you like gardens, Benmore Botanic Garden is close by and has those giant redwood trees.

For facilities, it's got the basics covered. WiFi, TV, a wood-burning stove, parking right there. The kitchen has a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a local pub down the road.
