This is Eckford House. It's up in Benmore, Argyll. The house looks out over the valley. It's an old factor's house from the Benmore Estate, so it's got that solid, traditional feel. It was just renovated a couple of years ago.
It sleeps seven, maybe a couple more if you use the sofa beds. There are three bedrooms and, usefully, three bathrooms. Each bedroom has its own en-suite or a Jack and Jill. The master has a big shower with body jets. One room has three singles, another a double plus a pull-out couch. There's also a sofa bed in the living room. The rating is 4 Star, which fits. It's comfortable and well finished.
You've got underfloor heating throughout and wood burners in the living room and kitchen. The kitchen is a good size with a big table and a range cooker. The living room is large, with a 50-inch TV. It's all very clean and warm.
The garden is the main thing. It's about ten acres, with proper trails through it. There are waterfalls and all sorts of mature trees and rhododendrons. It's like having a bit of the botanic garden to yourself. There's a hot tub in a log cabin next to the house, with fairy lights and a Bluetooth speaker.
You're right next to the Benmore Botanic Garden. Pucks Glen is just up the road for walking. Dunoon is a short drive away for shops and food. You can get to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park in under half an hour if you want wider hills.
Facilities: all the bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. There's a cot if needed. No pets, I'm afraid.
