Hillcrest Cottage is just outside Dunoon. It's a detached cottage, one on its own. You get the whole place.
The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. Both bedrooms are doubles and they're downstairs. The main one has good views over where the lochs and the River Clyde meet. It's a quiet spot. The bathroom is a shower room.
Upstairs is all one space. Kitchen, dining area, and living room. There's a gas stove that looks like a wood burner. The big window is the main feature. It looks out over the lochs and the hills. There's a private balcony off this room too.
It was built in 1888 but it's been done up recently. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean.
Outside, there's a garden area and a BBQ. I've put in a lockable shed for bikes if you bring them. There's a washing machine and a rotary dryer. Parking is right there.
The town is a short drive away. Dunoon has shops, cafes, a swimming pool, and a cinema. You can walk along the esplanade by the water. There are a few golf courses nearby.
For bigger days out, you're close to Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Inveraray is about 40 minutes north. Oban is further, about an hour and forty minutes, but that's your gateway for ferries to Mull, Iona, and Staffa.
Things to know: the living area is upstairs, so you go downstairs to bed. The shower room is downstairs with the bedrooms. No pets, sorry. Bedding and towels are included.
