Summerville Cottage

Summerville Cottage is in Kirkby Stephen, just off the main market square. It's an old cottage, so it's got beams and a wood burner. There's a patio out the back that's enclosed, with a bench.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. Two are doubles upstairs. The third room has a trundle bed, which is a single bed with another small one that pulls out from underneath. It's fine for kids or a smaller adult. There's a sofa bed in the dining room if you need it. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well looked after.

The town has a co-op, a few pubs that do food, and some cafes. It's a proper old market town. You're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales here. For walking, you can get straight onto the Coast to Coast path. The Yorkshire Dales National Park website has good route ideas.

You're about a 25 minute drive from the Lake District, so you can get to places like Haweswater or Ullswater quite easily. The Lake District National Park site is useful for traffic and parking. The North Pennines are about the same distance the other way.

Facilities: there's broadband, a smart TV, a washing machine in the utility room, and a downstairs toilet. Bedding and towels are included. We can take up to two dogs. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.

Other things nearby: there's fishing on the River Eden, a golf course, and some places you can go horse riding. I've put links to a couple of the main sites for planning days out.
