Greystones

This cottage is called Greystones and it's in Ravenstonedale, Cumbria. It's a proper old Lakeland cottage with low beams and a big stone fireplace. You can feel the age in it, which some people like.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms. One king size, one double. There's one bathroom with a shower over the bath. The rating is 4 Star, so it's comfortable.

Now, the stairs. They're original cottage stairs. They're steep, they're narrow, and they turn sharply. You need to be careful on them. We say that because it's true.

There's a small kitchen and a separate utility room at the back which is handy for boots and wet dogs. You can bring two dogs. The garden is enclosed, which is good for them. It gets the sun in the afternoon.

The village is quiet. There are a couple of good pubs within walking distance. For a shop, you'd drive to Kirkby Stephen, which is about three miles away. It's a small market town with what you need.

You're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park here. The Howgill Fells are incredible for walking and they're right on your doorstep. You can also get to the Lake District in under half an hour by car. Kendal is about twenty minutes away.

Included in the stay: all bedding and towels, WiFi, the washing machine, and dishwasher. There's parking.
