Mains Side is in Crosby Garrett, a little village off the A685. It's a converted stone barn. It's quiet here.
The barn sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up nicely, it's very clean and comfortable. The living room has a wood burner and there's a smart TV. The kitchen looks out over the garden.
The garden is private, gets the sun, and has a patio with furniture. You can park right outside.
There's no pub in the village itself. Kirkby Stephen is about two miles away. It's a small market town. It's got shops, a couple of supermarkets, pubs, and places to eat. That's where you'll go for most things.
If you're walking, you can get straight onto the fells from here. Part of the Coast to Coast path goes through Kirkby Stephen. The local lanes are good for cycling if you don't mind a few hills. For wildlife, Smardale Nature Reserve and Sunbiggin Tarn are close by.
You can get to the Lakes in under an hour. Kendal, Windermere, that sort of thing. Appleby-in-Westmorland is about fifteen minutes drive. Penrith is about half an hour, and that's where the Rheged Centre is. The Settle to Carlisle railway line is nearby if you like trains.
Inside, there's a washing machine, WiFi, and a cot and highchair if you need them. All bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
