Only 2 miles further is the historic market town of Rothbury, with its pretty riverside inns and tea rooms. The National Trust property, Cragside House, in Rothbury makes for a good day out, and its gardens are a delight. Alnwick Castle is only 14 miles away, where you can explore the enchanting gardens and the magnificent castle. Otterburn is easily reached, and you can drive on to Kielder Water and explore the National Park. After a busy day touring, Glenesk makes a welcome retreat to come back to. Beach 17 miles.
