There is plenty to see and do in Seahouses with a wide range of attractions including boat trips to the Farne Islands run from the nearby harbour; the islands are famous for their nesting seabirds and grey seal colonies. Horse riding is available on the cusp of the village, and there is an impressive golf course on the links close by.
In the high street you will find tearooms, restaurants, pubs and shops. The picture postcard village of Bamburgh, is only 2 miles north with its wide expanse of golden, sandy beaches, and where the tidal island of Lindisfarne, locally known as Holy Island and the birthplace of Christianity, can be viewed. Visit Budle Bay, a bird sanctuary, where at low tide a vast expanse of mud flats is home to countless thousands of sea and land birds, making this location a haven for bird watchers. The market town of Alnwick, with its own castle, offers many facilities a few miles inland. Alnwick Garden is a popular visitor attraction, with its grand cascade waterfall and restaurant set within the largest tree house in Europe.
