A 12-minute drive will take you to Rothbury a pretty market town with steppingstones over the river, bespoke shops and plenty of pubs and cafes to choose from. Cragside House is in Rothbury a popular National Trust property the first generated by hydroelectricity with glorious gardens to meander through.
Alnwick is a 17-minute drive where visitors can explore the majestic castle used in some Harry Potter scenes and home to the Duke of Northumberland. The Northumberland heritage Coast is less than 10 miles away with miles of golden beaches, peppered with castles just waiting to be explored. Greenwood Cottage is a perfect place to stay with easy access to all the major road network through Northumberland up to the Scottish Borders.
