Sunnyside is a cosy welcoming home from home ideal for up to six people. Ideally located to easily reach all the top tourist attractions throughout this friendly diverse county. Only a couple of miles drive to the sandy beach in Newbiggin by the sea, a popular little seaside village with a choice of cafés and pubs. A few minutes’ walk takes you to a lovely riverside popular with paddle boarders and home to the local rowing club. Ashington once a famous mining area is now completely renewed paying homage to its heritage with a wonderful museum at nearby Woodhorn Colliery, the small town has plenty of amenities and large supermarkets.
Only 6 miles you will find Morpeth, a charming picturesque small market town with some excellent shops and restaurants, popular on a weekend for meals and cocktails out. Sunnyside is just a short walk to a popular pub with quizzes and music where you can leave the car behind and join in with the locals. The road network is excellent from here making travel in all directions easy, head on up North to the heritage coastal route stop off in Alnwick and admire the majestic castle featured in Harry Potter, meander the cobbled streets and make a real day out of it by visiting the Alnwick Gardens.
Perhaps head to the west, discover a Roman Fort whilst visiting Hadrian’s Wall. Or how about a day trip into the Northumberland National Park with miles of Forest around the huge reservoir. Newcastle upon Tyne is easily reached either via car, bus or take a train from Morpeth Station, here you can discover the fabulous quayside, the fine architecture or visit the Theatre, of course you are spoilt for choice with bars and restaurants make a day of it and stop off to see the iconic Tyne Bridge.
