On cooler evenings relax in front of the wood burner creating even more ambience and comfort to your evenings in. The large comfy bed and freestanding bath in the bedroom offer some extra comfort.
Morpeth is a pretty, historic small market town with a fine selection of bars, restaurants, cafés and shops, with a wonderful Edwardian indoor shopping arcade. All the bars and restaurants cater for all budgets and age groups, some have live music on a weekend, and some are just traditional full of friendly Northumbrian folk. Travelling around the county is so easy from Rose Cottage with easy access onto the main A1, travelling around is simple making day trips very accessible. Travel north to Alnwick home to the Duke of Northumberland, visit the 700 year old majestic castle featured in Harry Potter and meander through the cobbled streets, head north from here stopping off at Craster, Seahouses or Bamburgh with miles of golden beaches and historic sites and castles. You may prefer to travel inland over to Hadrian’s Wall perhaps do some walking or visiting a Roman museum. The train station is nearby where you can hop on a train to Newcastle, Edinburgh or York for a completely different day out. There are many places to visit whilst staying in Northumberland, reputedly the friendliest county in England where you can be sure of a real warm Geordie welcome. Beach 8 miles.
