This charming terraced holiday cottage is in the pretty village of Norham, 8 miles from Berwick-upon-Tweed. Very comfortably furnished, it has a peaceful garden and a bright, sunny conservatory ideal for eating relaxing meals in, or simply unwinding in with a good book and a glass of something delicious. The village has a couple of pubs, a local shop and an excellent butcher, and there are wonderful walks just moments away alongside the glorious River Tweed, which marks the border between Scotland and England. The area is famous for its salmon fishing, with some of the best beats nearby. The village is rich in Border history: historic St Cuthbert’s Church is just behind the cottage and the main street is dominated by the ruins of Norham Castle set high above the river. This is a wonderful base from which to explore the Scottish Borders and north Northumberland. Holy Island and the Farne Islands make for great days out, or Edinburgh is just an hour away by train from Berwick for a hassle-free day in the city. Beach 10 miles.
