Bryn Derw is a bungalow in Cutiau, just outside Barmouth. It's detached and quite big, sleeps eleven across five bedrooms. There are three bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable.
The main living area has a wood burner and doors out to the garden. The kitchen is open plan with a big table. There's a utility room with a washing machine and a back door for muddy boots. The games room has a PlayStation, a football table, and some board games. One of the bedrooms is off there, with a bunk bed that sleeps three. Another kingsize bedroom is on the ground floor too. Upstairs there are three more bedrooms: two doubles and a twin.
Outside, there's a patio and a large front garden with a good view. To the side and back are woodland grounds. Some of it is steep and there are drops, so you'll need to keep an eye on children if they're playing out there. There are floodlights around the house if you're arriving in the dark.
Barmouth is about a mile and a quarter away. There's a shop, restaurants, and a pub about a mile down the road. The beach is two miles.
For walking, you can go into Barmouth and onto the Barmouth Viaduct, then follow the Mawddach Trail along the estuary to Dolgellau. It's a flat path on an old railway line. The train line from Barmouth also goes north to Harlech Castle and south to places like Tywyn and the Talyllyn Railway.
If you want something more active, Zip World and Bounce Below at Blaenau Ffestiniog are about a 30-minute drive. There's horse riding locally too.
