This is Treetops, in Friog. It's a detached house on the hillside overlooking the Mawddach estuary. You can see right across to Barmouth and up towards Cader Idris. It's up a single-track lane, so it feels private.
It sleeps eight people, four bedrooms and two bathrooms. One of them is a wet room. It has a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. The main thing is it has its own indoor heated swimming pool. It's not huge, but it's a proper pool for a proper swim, which is handy if the weather isn't great.
The garden is decked and landscaped. There's parking for a couple of cars and space to store bikes.
You're about a five minute drive, or a decent walk, down to the village of Arthog. Fairbourne beach is very close, with its little railway. Barmouth is just over the bridge, maybe ten minutes by car. It's a classic seaside town with a good beach, chips, and a harbour.
For walks, you're on the edge of Snowdonia. You can walk the Precipice Walk from nearby, or drive into Dolgellau in about fifteen minutes. That's a good base for hiking up Cader Idris if you're feeling energetic. The Snowdonia National Park site is useful for routes.
Within half an hour you can get to Corris for King Arthur's Labyrinth, the Centre for Alternative Technology near Machynlleth, or Portmeirion. The Talyllyn Railway is about twenty five minutes away.
Inside, it's got what you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair. The entrance and one of the bathrooms are wheelchair accessible.
