Ysgubor Uchaf is an upper floor apartment on our farm near Friog. It looks out over fields towards the Mawddach Estuary. You can hear the sea. There's another apartment, Hen Ysgubor, below this one on the ground floor.
It sleeps six in three rooms. One bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable but not luxurious. Everything works. You'll get a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and bedding is provided. There's parking right outside.
You can take up to two dogs. We ask that they stay downstairs and off the furniture.
The location is the main thing. You're in the Snowdonia National Park. A path from the farm leads straight down to Fairbourne beach. It's a big, sandy beach. From there, you can walk across the old bridge into Barmouth. The Mawddach Estuary trail is right there for walking or cycling. It's very flat.
There's a pony trekking centre on the farm if you fancy a ride. They take beginners. You can also arrange to bring your own horse.
A shop and a pub are about three-quarters of a mile away. For a bigger shop, drive into Dolgellau. It's about a 20-minute drive. From there you can get into the mountains properly. Cadair Idris is close. The National Trust has a few places nearby too, like Harlech Castle.
The coast road goes north to Harlech or south to Aberdyfi. Both are nice for a day out. Barmouth, just over the bridge, has all the usual seaside things.
