Brig-Y-Don Bach
Brig-Y-Don Bach is our smaller place, attached to the main Brig-Y-Don house. It's for three people, one bedroom and one bathroom. It's all on one level, which people seem to like. You've got your own entrance and a private patio on the side.
The main thing is the location. It's in Llanaber, right by Barmouth. The back garden is shared with the other house, but you get your own bit of it. That's where the best view is, straight out over Cardigan Bay. The sun sets right over the sea from there. From the bottom of the garden, a path takes you down, across the railway line, and onto the beach. It takes about five minutes.
You can walk along the promenade into Barmouth centre. There are a few pubs and cafes there, plus some independent shops. The beach is sandy and good for a proper walk. For a longer walk or a bike ride, the Mawddach Trail starts nearby. It's an old railway line that goes all the way to Dolgellau.
If you want to drive out, Harlech Castle is about twenty minutes away. The Ffestiniog Railway and other steam railways are within half an hour. For something different, Zip World in Blaenau Ffestiniog is probably forty minutes drive.
Facilities wise: it's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. There's a washing machine, towels are provided, and there's parking. WiFi is included. The bathroom is a wet room. We can take one well-behaved dog. The garden is enclosed.
